The 2026 WA Day Festival regional tour has wrapped up after an incredible month of celebrations, with thousands of people coming together to celebrate the people, places and stories that make Western Australia extraordinary.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us across the State. Now, we’re looking ahead to the Carnarvon and Fremantle WA Day Festivals this October, before finishing the year with the Metro WA Day Festival this November.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you again soon.
Join us in Carnarvon on Friday 9 October for a vibrant WA Day Festival celebrating the people, stories and culture that make Western Australia so special.
Presented by Gwoonwardu Mia, this free community event will transform the grounds into a hub of culture, creativity and connection, with live entertainment, cultural experiences and family-friendly activities for all ages.
There’s plenty happening at the WA Day Festival in Carnarvon, with an afternoon of free live entertainment, culture and family fun at Gwoonwardu Mia. Enjoy a fantastic line-up of live cultural performances, including presentations from Pundara Dancers, the Gwoonwardu Boys and Creality – Living Histories, bringing to life the interconnected stories that shape the Gascoyne region.
Kids can hit the dance floor at the Kidchella Silent Disco, meet a roving dinosaur and baby dinosaur puppet, enjoy live stage shows and settle in for a special Timmy Turtle book reading. Get creative with hands-on activities and face painting, and experience the spectacular community-led fire sculpture display.
There’s plenty to discover throughout the afternoon. Get involved at the interactive WA Day cookie-making station, come face-to-face with fascinating reptiles from Red Dirt Reptile Encounters and explore activities celebrating the rich and diverse heritage of the region. Take the opportunity to explore the Gwoonwardu Mia Cultural Centre, connect with local community groups and enjoy delicious food from local vendors while immersing yourself in the culture, history and community spirit of Western Australia.
The Sundowner program will feature Raymond Edney and award-winning singer-songwriter Lilly Gogos. With family activities happening throughout the afternoon, there’s something for all ages to enjoy.

Celebrate community, culture and everything we love about WA at Fremantle’s FREE WA Day Festival – bringing the iconic Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and Bathers Beach to life with live entertainment, cultural performances, family fun and plenty of surprises.
From mermaids and carnival performers to live music, multicultural performances and a spectacular sunset finale, there’ll be something happening around every corner.
🔥 Begin the celebration with a traditional Smoking Ceremony led by Neville Collard JP Nyungar Birdiyia, followed later by a special WA Day Festival Corroboree at Bathers Beach.
🧜♀️ Dive into an underwater world with the Spectacular Mermaid Aquarium Show, mermaid meet and greets and Unicorns by the Sea, alongside plenty of magical characters roaming the festival.
🎶 Enjoy a huge mix of live music and entertainment, from 80s anthems and a tribute to Bon Scott to Cuban music, samba, Italian Tarantella, Filipino street dance, dragon dancing and the thunderous sounds of Taiko drumming.
🎭 Soak up the colour of Carnival Fiesta, Brazilian rhythms, Venetian Masquerade characters, Vintage Beach Belles and roving performers bringing the precinct to life.
🍝 Celebrate Fremantle’s rich Italian heritage with Cooking with the Nonnas, plus the Italians in Fremantle historic walking trail at the WA Shipwrecks Museum.
🧱 Keep the kids entertained with Bricks, Builds & Big Fun, creative activities, mini kite making, WA-themed colouring, mascot appearances and plenty more family fun.
🏎️ Check out impressive displays including the Barbagallo RAM Showcase and Corvettes of WA Car Club Showcase.
🏛️ Head inside the WA Shipwrecks Museum for free gallery highlights, family activities, magical character meet and greets and more.
🔥 Then gather by the water for SUNSET OF FIRE – a spectacular fire artistry performance bringing WA Day Festival Fremantle to a breathtaking close as the sun sets over Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour.

Innovation Alley is back, showcasing some of Western Australia’s biggest and brightest innovators. Explore interactive exhibits, hands-on activations and big ideas from Hancock Iron Ore, The Perth Mint, Synergy, Alcoa and the WA Museum, celebrating the ingenuity, technology and innovation shaping our State’s future.

The carnival rides are back - and they’re completely FREE!
With rides popping up across the park, families can enjoy all the carnival fun without spending a cent. From family favourites to plenty of thrills, there’ll be something for everyone.

Get ready to play! The Sporting Precinct returns with familiar favourites including the Western Force, Perth Glory and West Coast Eagles, alongside exciting new additions from across Western Australia’s sporting scene.
Hardwired BMX is back with more high-energy shows, plus put your skills to the test with WAIS, take on inflatable dodgeball, try your hand at axe throwing, get moving with Gymnastics WA and plenty more.
And that’s just the teaser — more sporting action is still to be revealed!
The inaugural WA Day Community Chorus, presented by Joondalup Symphony Orchestra Chorus, will bring singers from across the community together for a major live performance at WA Day Festival 2026.
Over three months, you’ll learn the music, meet new people and build towards performing live at WA Day Festival alongside professional musicians.
No auditions. No professional experience required.
Just a love of singing and a willingness to have a go.
