Celebrate community, culture and creativity at Fremantle’s FREE WA Day Festival – a vibrant waterfront celebration honouring the stories, people and cultures that shape Western Australia.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and Bathers Beach, the precinct will come alive with live entertainment, cultural experiences, family fun and spectacular performances throughout the day.
What’s On
🎶 Live music and cultural performances from artists representing Oceania, Asia, Europe and South America, bringing a diverse program of rhythm, dance and celebration to the Fremantle waterfront.
🖤 A powerful First Nations Corroboree led by respected Elder James Webb and Wadumbah Dance Theatre, celebrating the rich cultural heritage and enduring traditions of Australia’s First Nations peoples.
🐉 Spectacular roaming entertainment and cultural showcases including the breathtaking 50-metre Dragon Dance, Venetian-style street theatre and high-energy performances from groups such as Apotezzy Samba.
💃 Festival Carnivale at Bathers Beach featuring Latin rhythms, choreographed dance performances, live bands, vibrant costuming and crowd favourites including Candela and the electrifying Eighties Arena live show.
🎪 Kids Festival Kingdom packed with interactive family fun including creative workshops, storytelling, hands-on activities and magical encounters with superheroes, unicorns and fairytale characters.
🧜 The Mermaid Aquarium & Marine Wonder Experience bringing underwater magic and immersive marine-themed fun for children and families.
🍝 Nonna’s Piazza – Cooking with the Nonnas, where traditional recipes, storytelling and hands-on pasta-making workshops celebrate culture, food and family across generations.
🔥 A breathtaking sunset fire performance on Bathers Beach, combining flame, rhythm and movement for a spectacular coastal finale.
🍔 Delicious food and drinks from Fremantle’s iconic waterfront venues and local vendors, creating a festive seaside atmosphere throughout the harbour precinct.
