Joshua “FLEWNT” Eggington is a proud Noongar/Wongi MC, cultural leader, and youth advocate from Boorloo (Perth). Renowned for his razor-sharp lyricism, magnetic stage presence, and commitment to truth-telling, FLEWNT has become one of Australia’s most important contemporary Indigenous voices in Hip Hop.
FLEWNT has taken his vision from local stages to the world — performing at SXSW Sydney, SXSW Austin, the Sydney Opera House, America’s Got Talent, and numerous festivals and venues across Australia. In 2025, he showcased internationally at the International Indigenous Music Summit in Toronto and the Aussie BBQ at Central Park SummerStage, New York City, further cementing his global presence.
He is the co creator and driving force behind the Boorloo Block Party, a For Us, By Us celebration of First Nations excellence that has grown into a cornerstone cultural event and is set to expand nationally.
In 2024, FLEWNT became the first Australian to participate in the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), exploring Hip Hop’s role in civic engagement in the U.S. His contributions have been recognised with multiple accolades, including City of Melville Young Citizen of the Year and, in 2025, Channel 7’s WA Young Achiever of the Year.
Through his work in music and community, FLEWNT has built partnerships with schools, youth detention centres, and grassroots organisations, delivering Hip Hop workshops that empower young people to tell their own stories. His music, including recent collaboration “This Is You” with Māori artist Tehiiri, blends hard-hitting social commentary with anthemic, crowd-moving energy — cementing his place as not just an artist, but a trailblazer for contemporary Indigenous identity.
