Celebrate culture, community and connection at the FREE Kalgoorlie-Boulder WA Day Festival — a vibrant day packed with live entertainment, cultural experiences, family fun and interactive adventures for all ages.
Hosted by the Museum of the Goldfields in partnership with Celebrate WA, this much-loved community event brings together the stories, traditions and creativity that make the Goldfields region so unique.
What’s On
Experience the powerful Living Histories storytelling program, featuring eight storytellers from eight different cultural backgrounds sharing stories, traditions and experiences that reflect the rich diversity of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
Enjoy a vibrant line-up of live entertainment and multicultural performances throughout the day, including Māori, Filipino, Bhutanese, Indian and African dance and music performances, Irish music from the O’Neil family, local performers and traditional storytelling.
Connect with culture through Aboriginal art workshops and storytelling sessions led by local Aboriginal artist Gavin Cumba Murray, where participants can create and take home their own artwork.
Try your luck at prospecting for treasure thanks to Hannan’s North Tourist Mine. Learn how to pan for gold and keep any treasures you uncover in this hands-on Goldfields experience.
Watch the Chamber of Minerals and Energy Mines Rescue Team in action with exciting live emergency rescue demonstrations — a crowd favourite celebrating the region’s strong mining community.
Get your adrenaline fix with Radrock Adventures, featuring an 8-metre rock-climbing wall, bungee trampolines, a mobile high ropes course with zipline, an inflatable obstacle course, axe throwing and interactive adventure challenges.
Meet Angie the Fairy and roaming performers bringing magical entertainment, playful interactions and face painting throughout the festival precinct.
Enjoy hands-on fun at Old Macdonald’s Travelling Farm, where kids can meet and interact with friendly farm animals.
Explore family activity zones including the Under 5 Play Zone by Goldfields Regional Library, Mini Miner Play Area, Box City creative build zone and Western Australian themed arts and crafts.
Relax and recharge in the Headspace Chill Zone, or share what makes you proud by contributing to the Goldfields Pride “Proud Tree”.
