Dolce Blue (pronounced Dolchay Blue) are an alt-pop/indie-rock band from Perth, WA, known for their ability to balance the sweet (dolce) with the melancholic (blue) through heartfelt lyricism, shimmering guitar lines, and irresistibly catchy songwriting
Drawing comparisons to Alvvays, Best Coast, San Cisco, and Ball Park Music, the band has steadily built national momentum, earning airplay on Triple J and Unearthed, multiple features on RTRFM’s most-played tracks (2020–2024), and nominations in Happy Mag’s Needle song awards. They’ve shared stages with artists including Eliza & the Delusionals, Shag Rock, Dear Seattle, Sly Withers, TOWNS, Noah Dillon, Didirri, and Little Quirks.
After debuting with 2019’s Forever is Too Long and 2020’s Always Blue EP, Dolce Blue signed to Blue Grey Pink (two-time WAM Independent Label of the Year), releasing a string of singles before dropping their sophomore album Sweet Melancholy in 2023, followed by a regional WA tour, a solo national tour, and an unofficial BIGSOUND showcase.
In 2024, they unveiled Sweet Melancholy Deluxe, a 20-track expanded edition that lifted their monthly Spotify listeners to over 10k. Vents Magazine praised the group as “a special songwriting force, the band manages to capture melancholy like no other. Where they go next, however, will see the band become revered talents.”
Now working on their third studio album with ARIA-winning producer Alex L’Estrange, Dolce Blue continues to solidify their place as one of Australia’s most promising emerging acts, with new music set to arrive in 2025.
