We strongly encourage visitors to catch public transport, ride share, walk or ride, to the WA Day Festival. With road closures and limited parking in place, these are the easiest, fastest, and most sustainable ways to enjoy the weekend.
Plan to arrive before 5:00pm on Saturday or Sunday to avoid peak congestion when the cricket crowds leave Optus Stadium. We recommend avoiding travel to the WA Day Festival between 5:00pm and 6:30pm for the smoothest experience.
Catch the Train – Arrive before 5!

The WA Day Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of everything that makes Western Australia great — our people, places, and shared achievements.
Traditionally held on the first Monday in June alongside the public holiday, the WA Day Festival was moved to November, with the 2025 Festival taking place on 22–23 November at Burswood Park. From 2028, the public holiday will shift permanently to the second Monday in November.
The Festival brings together all Western Australians — from every background and community — to celebrate the spirit and pride of our state.
