Fremantle, June 2025 – More than 10,000 people gathered at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour for a vibrant WA Day Festival filled with culture, community, and creativity.
Despite the rain, the crowds embraced the celebrations, beginning with a moving Welcome to Country led by Elder James Webb and the Wadumbah Dance Group. From there, the day unfolded with colourful cultural performances at Bathers Beach, live music at Mews Park, dazzling fashion parades, and family-friendly activities at the WA Shipwrecks Museum. A spectacular 50-metre Dragon Dance along the waterfront was a highlight, while an array of food trucks and local eateries kept festival-goers well-fed throughout the day.
The Fremantle celebrations were made possible thanks to the support of BHP, the State Government and Lotterywest. Their contributions ensure WA Day continues to be a celebration for everyone.
