Metro and Regional Festivals

The WA Day Festival events bring Western Australians together to celebrate our people, culture and shared identity – from the coast to the outback and across our capital city. As of December 2025, WA Day is marked with seven regional festivals held in June alongside the public holiday weekend, and a major metropolitan festival in Perth held in November.

Across the regions, festivals take place in Carnarvon, Port Hedland, Geraldton, Newman, Kalgoorlie, Albany and Fremantle, each running for one afternoon over four to five hours. These community events showcase the best of local music, food, arts and entertainment, and are designed for people of all ages to enjoy free of charge.

Perth’s metro festival has evolved into the largest WA Day celebration, now held over two full days in November to take advantage of warmer weather and create a vibrant, open-air experience. In 2025, the Perth WA Day Festival took place on 22–23 November at Burswood Park, drawing strong community support and reinforcing November as the ideal time for the city’s headline event.
