The Great Mascot Race is BACK!
Get ready for one of the most hilarious highlights of the WA Day Festival as the Great Mascot Race returns for 2026 – bigger, better and more competitive than ever!
WA’s favourite mascots are going head-to-head in a chaotic showdown of speed, skill and plenty of friendly rivalry, all competing for the ultimate mascot bragging rights!
This year, we’re turning up the competition with an exciting new heats format, giving our furry, feathered and larger-than-life contenders even more chances to shine before the ultimate dash to the finish line.
🏆 The big question: Can Rick the Rock from the West Coast Eagles pull off the hat-trick and claim his THIRD consecutive victory? Or will a new challenger finally knock the reigning champion off his perch?
And of course, no Great Mascot Race would be complete without the legendary Fat Cat, returning once again to blow the whistle and officially kick off the chaos!
Expect outrageous costumes, questionable running techniques, plenty of laughs and some seriously competitive mascots.
