Join us this WA Day as Carnarvon comes alive with a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and connection at the iconic Gwoonwardu Mia Cultural Centre. This free, family-friendly event will bring together the Gascoyne community to honour the stories, people, and traditions that make Western Australia unique.
Proudly presented by Gwoonwardu Mia, this year’s WA Day Festival will feature a dynamic mix of live performances, cultural experiences, and engaging activities for all ages.
Highlights of the Day:
Main Stage Performances:
Enjoy powerful performances from local legends, including Raymond Edney, the Pundarra Dancers, and the Coral Spawn Dancers – celebrating Country through music, movement, and storytelling.
Cultural Experiences:
Explore rich cultural displays that showcase the heritage of the region, participate in hands-on family-friendly activities, and experience the deep connections to land and culture that define the Gascoyne.
Bush Tucker & Local Flavours:
Taste the flavours of Country with bush tucker tastings, food trucks serving local favourites, and refreshing bush tea mocktails that celebrate native ingredients.
Community Spirit:
This relaxed celebration under the open sky is the perfect opportunity to connect with community, enjoy live entertainment, and immerse yourself in the spirit of WA Day.
