What is the WA Day Festival?

The WA Day Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of everything that makes Western Australia great — our people, places and shared achievements.

In 2026, the WA Day Festival will return to Burswood Park on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, bringing Western Australians together for a huge weekend of free entertainment, live music, family activities, sport, food and fireworks. While WA Day has traditionally been celebrated on the first Monday in June, the Perth Festival has moved to November. From 2028, the WA Day public holiday is proposed to permanently move to the second Monday in November. The Festival brings together Western Australians from every background and community to celebrate the people, stories and experiences that make our state unique.
