First presented in 1973, the WA Citizen of the Year Awards has a rich history of acknowledging Western Australian high achievers across a range of different industries and categories.
In 2012 the awards were renamed The Western Australian of the Year Awards in recognition of their position as awarding the State’s highest honours and into 2013 they celebrate their 41st year.
Designed to represent the ‘best of the best’ the awards reflect the highest level of contribution made to Western Australia by those either born or bred in WA, or those who have chosen to call WA home.
