Oz Concert
25 January - Government House Gardens
6,000 free tickets are available to the public by completing a coupon in The West Australian in Novermber/December the year prior to the January concert. The concert takes place in Government House Gardens from 8pm until 10pm and is telecast live on the Internet. SBS TV screen the previous years concert on Australia Day and then the current years concert twice during the year. The general public is admitted from 6pm and invited to bring a rug, low chairs and a picnic. Roving performers entertain the audience leading up to the event.
ANZAC Day Gunfire Breakfasts
25 April - State wide
Celebrate WA and partners, the RSL, Lions International, Rotary Clubs of WA and community volunteers will present a Gunfire Breakfast and entertainment for Diggers, family and friends in Stirling Gardens Perth with the support of Lotterywest and corporate partners.
Western Australian Citizen of the Year Awards
Annually - Foundation Day Weekend in June, Burswood Entertainment Complex
Nominations open in February and close in April each year. The Awards are presented by the Governor of Western Australia Dr Ken Michael AC at a Gala Evening at the Burswood Entertainment Complex.
Governor's Citizen of the Year Reception
July - Government House
The Governor hosts a Citizen of the Year Reception in Government House Ballroom for the Western Australian Citizen of the Year Award recipients, sponsors, supporters and the chairman of each Award Selection Committee.
WA Week
State wide - October
WA Week celebrations will include an opening and closing ceremony and a State wide program of events to celebrate the attributes and uniqueness of Western Australia, including its regions, people, achievements, lifestyle and environment.
Governor's Proclamation Day Citizens' Breakfast
21st October Proclamation Day Breakfast - Government House Ballroom
The public is invited to breakfast on the morning of WA's Proclamation Day by completing a coupon published in The West Australian. The event includes a buffet breakfast, entertainment and an address by the Governor.
